There are a lot of things to do in Maui, and many of them right here in Lahaina. Activities abound from the structured tour to independent exploration. One of the best things to do in Lahaina is explore: just a few blocks from our inn is the site of Moku’ula, the original residence of Hawaiian royalty. Although it’s not much to look at now, the stories and legends associated with this sacred place are colorful. Maui Nei provides a descriptive and easy walking active tour around the immediate area (plus proceeds are used for its restoration). Also look for the brown numbered historical signs all around Lahaina, for a self-guided tour of historic Lahaina. There are over 20 sites all within the circumference of our house, including an old prison, an old fort, churches, temples, graveyards, missionary homes and more.
