The Old Lahaina House is located in the southern residential section of Lahaina in West Maui.  Our B&B inn is approximately 45 minutes from the Kahului International Airport and 20 minutes from the smaller Kapalua Airport.  Lahaina is 15 minutes south of Ka’anapali Beach and our home is just minutes from the main tourist section of Lahaina’s world famous Front Street and excellent, uncrowded beaches.  We are approximately 5 minutes from the Lahaina Harbor with ferries to Lana’i and Moloka’i.

Driving directions:

From Kahului take HWY 30 (Honoapiilani Highway) to Lahaina.  Turn left on Shaw Street, and immediate left on Waine’e Street.  Follow the forced right turn to Ilikahi Street.

From Kapalua take HWY 30 (Honopiilani Highway) south to Lahaina.  Turn right on Shaw Street, then left on Waine’e Street.  Follow the forced right turn to Ilikahi Street.

Public Transportation from Kahului Airport

Shuttles average around $30 per person, taxis may cost upwards of $75.  The bus is typically $1. From the airport take a bus to the transfer station at the Kaahumanu Shopping Center in Kahului.  Transfer to a Lahaina bound bus. Get off at Lahaina’s Wharf Cinema Center.  Walk south on Front Street past Shaw Street and a large white building on your right, at least four blocks.  Keep going until you see a small side street blocked to cars by a gate on your left.  Cut through this “dead-end” into the cul de sac. At the intersection of Waine’e and Ilikahi is our home.

Nearby Breakfast and Coffee Shops:

Breakfast and coffee shops are all around the Old Lahaina House!  A few of our favorites include the cool and groovy Livewire Café on Front Street with its great coffee bar; Hecock’s diner-style breakfast at the back of 505 Front Street with its prime ocean location; and Lahaina Coolers just off Dickenson Street with outdoor patio seating. And don’t miss the famous Longhi’s breakfast at the far north end of Front Street.  We also like the classic breakfast fare at the Pioneer Inn and the coffee at the Maui Grown Coffee store just up Lahainaluna Road.

Nearby Beaches & Parks:

The Old Lahaina House is very close to Puamana Beach Park right at the entrance to Lahaina.  This a great place to snorkel, BBQ and surf.  Popular surf spots in the vicinity include Surfer’s Reef, Shark Pit, Lahaina Breakwall, and Lahaina Harbor.  The best beach is only a few blocks from our B&B in front of Lahaina Shores Beach Resort.  

Nearby Fine Dining:

When it comes to splurging we recommend Pacifico’s just minutes from our front door.  This gourmet dining experience, based on organic Maui-grown produce from the chef’s private gardens and fresh seafood, exemplifies Maui’s best.  Open and airy dining along the beach, overlooks the ocean to the sunset silhouette of Lana’i. Torch lit Hawaiian performances are offered at its sister restaurant next door.  Or drive ten minutes south to Olowalu for the ultimate in French dining at Chez Paul.

Nearby Casual Eateries:

505 Front Street is like our own private food court!  Here Gabby’s Pizzeria, served by Gabby himself, offers hot pizza, cold beer and juke box music.  Next door is Bamboo Bar & Grill, with tv sports, a late-night crowd, pool tables and sushi!  A deli-style coffee shop is also tucked into the inner shops at 505, while along the beach Hecock’s turns steak and seafood with a local bar scene.  Oh yes, and the Whalers General Store has a grocery section in back for stocking up on quick and easy meals or snacks.

Several blocks north is the Wharf Cinema Center, featuring a literal food court (Greek, Chinese and fast food), movie theatre, a dusty collection of odd shops and the fabulous Cool Cats diner.  Frosty shakes and hamburgers make it a good ol’ standby.  We have a great list of recommended restaurants, so just ask us!

Lei Spa at 505 Front Street, just a few blocks away, offers a full array of indulging treatments including massage, scrubs and aroma therapy. Next door, Vj’s Hair and Nails offers bridal services, manicures, pedicures, hair cut & color and gentlemen’s grooming. Find your personal bliss with an on the beach couples massage!
